Managing Partner Lissie Goldbach at the Finance Forum Zürich 2026

On 22 September 2026, Managing Partner Lissie Goldbach attended the Finance Forum Zürich at the Kongresshaus Zürich — the meeting point of the Swiss financial industry, held for the fourth time. Almost 500 decision-makers from banking, wealth and asset management, insurance, fintech and technology came together for a record turnout.

The event

Four practice-oriented workshops opened the day in the late morning, followed by the main programme from 13:30 and a networking apéro riche. Held under the patronage of the Canton of Zurich, the forum focused on three questions shaping the future of the Swiss financial centre:

  • How can financial stability and international competitiveness be reconciled?
  • What opportunities do artificial intelligence and digitalisation open up for the industry?
  • How does Switzerland hold its ground in a demanding economic and geopolitical environment?

Three voices worth listening to

  • Federal Councillor and Finance Minister Karin Keller-Sutter on Switzerland's future as a leading financial centre — and the continued effort it takes to stay there.
  • UBS Group CEO Sergio P. Ermotti on where UBS is heading and on the debate about additional regulatory requirements — one day before the Council of States voted on the new capital rules.
  • Jean-Claude Juncker, former President of the European Commission, on a world and Europe in transition — and on two small financial hubs, Switzerland and Luxembourg: exposed by size, yet remarkably stable, and linked by a long-standing friendship and by market participants trusted across the world.

Small by size. Trusted worldwide.

«Stability and trust are not a given. They are earned — and defended,» says Lissie Goldbach. «Switzerland and Luxembourg share something that comes with their size: they listen well, and they can adapt and change course quickly. For Swiss asset managers, family offices and pension funds, that is a practical point — when the ground shifts, a trusted jurisdiction becomes part of the investment case.»

The two financial centres are complements: a Swiss set-up at home, a Luxembourg structure as the gateway to European investors. Much of Leroy & Goldbach's work sits on that bridge — from Luxembourg, Zurich, Hamburg and London.

Our thanks to the Finance Forum Zürich, to the Canton of Zurich for its patronage, to the presenting partners and sponsors — above all Leonardo Natuzzi of ERI Switzerland/Liechtenstein — and to everyone who made the day, and the conversations, possible.
